+1 Make sure to run the sliders up and down their full travel a few times after applying the Caig's.

Other cleaners (Radio Shack, et al) are just cleaners and don't lubricate, leaving your sliders with no physical resistance; they'll flop around just with gravity - I learned the hard way. Transport the rig to the gig, and all the EQ would be messed up.

Tip: vacuum or blow them out first, then clean/lubricate.

And don't touch those capacitors!

Look at the Caig Fader Lube and Fader Grease application notes as well. DeoxIT D5 (contact cleaner) by itself isn't necessarily the hot ticket, but that depends on how the faders were lubricated (or not) to begin with. IME, disassembling faders and cleaning in an ultrasonic bath then re-lubing works best, but I usually just replace them once they go south.

+1 on the fader lube and grease. Cleaning without lubrication may alleviate the scratchiness for a brief period, but the resistive element and the wiper will then wear much faster, eventually ruining the fader.
