Clip-On, Battery Powered Headphone Amp

I know, I know,,,,,

This is a silly thread. You have Vox and Pocket
Rocket and Rockman and so on.......

Don't laugh,,,,,, But I thought this was cool.

I was by Guitar Center today and they had the
Line 6 POD Express on sale for $39. They retail
for I think $129 and sell for around $80 or $90,
or so I thought.

It's no a headphone amp,,, but why not???

This seemed just too good. I play guitar also,
so I pulled the trigger,

Now, I'm not going to try and tell you that the
sound is awesome. That's not the object here.

My Peavey Fury sounds great with any amp.

With these cheap headphones and an MP3 player,

I was jammin with Entwistle and McCartney.

It is not the best thing sense buttered bread,
but it works just fine for $40. It works even
better with my 6 strings.

I sure like it better than the Vox at $39 and up,

Tabdog

Not silly, looks like a good deal, and there have been several requests here lately for ideas right along these lines.

Dang... if it just had a few drum tracks built in, that would be close to perfection as a practice tool for me.

Sorry, I have never used the Korg Pandora.

All I can say is that it cost $100 more and
appears to be worth it.

The POD Express seems cheaper with less
features.

I would imagine that the only advantage
that the POD Express has is simplicity and
ease of use.

That is sort of the point here.

A simple and easy thing to use that does
good enough.

I was looking for a economical and easy
way to jam in the house and on the fly
without causing any intrusions because
of the noise I am making. All this without
being tied down to any amp or speakers.

I would like to have a Pandora.

I am retired and disabled. (on a fixed
income).

But, if I am going to spend that kind of
money, I would try to find a nice used
bass peramp.

My favorite bass (Peavey Fury) cost
$70. Half the price of a Pandora and
saved from a pawn shop and cleaned
up,

So, the POD is more my speed,

David

Nice photo, the lighting and angle really makes those Peaveys pop. And for $40, that's a really useful tool that I imagine sounds pretty good.
