I can't wait TI heat with an upright - I just have to purchase one!

One of my fave upright rigs is a SVT-VR/CL etc & Ampeg 810, so "coloured" is my way I guess
I'll sure report back here after I do try the TH500 (& either AE112's, 3015 modded PF115HE's or NV412) with my (Realist fitted) upright.
Thanx for the inspiration

| | | | Does anyone know of any good sound clips pairing the HD410 with an Aguilar DB750/751? I feel like I hear this combination mentioned regularly but haven't been able to find anything. |

I'd like to get two HD112s but realistically an HD212 is going to fit my budget better despite being a litte bulkier and harder to transport. I'd really like to find a used Carvin B1500 to drive it with. They seem to be relatively easy to find used so I shouldn't have too much trouble finding one.

Consider a situation where you can't park close to wherever you are performing (busy downtown, outdoor park?); the 2x112 could mean one more trip back and fourth. Just a thought. |

It's pretty managable either way, it's just harder to load that extra bulk by yourself. Getting the cabionet to and from the vehicle isn't an issue, since I use a dolly and I usually take everything in one trip. Quote:

I have not played through this combination, but it sounds perfect for my tone goals. I would even settle for a B2000 if I can't find a good deal on a B1500. Quote:

I know Jim has some new stuff coming, but am not in the know on any sort of 'vintage vibed sealed' product. My guess is, we will all know the full scoop within a few weeks or a bit longer. |

I don't want to derail this thread, so here is a link. Thanks in advance. I look forward to being a Berg owner. 210 + 212 Or Eden + Bergantino???

Question for those who own or just know the facts. I'm interested in an IP 1x12. I've been told there are two versions. If so, what is the difference? Recommendations? Thanks

Rob | The original IP112 was based on the original, small, mid present HT112. The second generation IP112ER is based on the larger, more deeply voiced HT112ER. |

There are IP versions using the HT1x12 enclosure/speaker design as well as ones using the HT1x12ER design. The ER can kick the lows with a little more authority, but both are beautiful sounding cabs. I would recommend getting the IP1x12 that matches your current cab.

PS-I still need to check out one of your 80's gigs. Sounds like a fun time!

Rob | I'd actually recommend the HD112 versus the IP if you are looking for a smaller rig for smaller gigs. The HD112 will be more 'familiar sounding' to you relatively to your HS410 and you can just use your same head. The HD112 is basically the same woofer and box as the HT112ER/IP112ER, but with the HS tweeter/crossover/top end tone.
Both the IP112 and IP112ER have a much more hi fi top end due to the tweeter and crossover, and just a whole different five. Plus, you have to find a preamp that works well with the somewhat fussy input gain, etc.
Just a thought! IP's are killer in their own way, but quite different from your HS tone, and a bit more fussy to dial in with the pre choices, etc. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
