Cold Bass Amp Problem?

I have a GK Goldline 500 head. When the temperature goes below 60 degrees, it sounds all distorted & the gain fails to work. In the summer or when it's warm, it works fine. Anyone else experience this? Is this normal? I have to warm this thing up for a couple hours if I want to play it!

That's not normal, obviously.

You probably have a cold solder joint on the gain potentiometer or somewhere on the signal (or power) path. Fortunately a tech can easily diagnose a problem like that using a heat gun and cold spray if the visual inspection fails to find the problematic joint(s).
