Combo Amps

Just wondering, can you buy a combo bass amp but later buy a guitar cabinet and just plug the cabinet into the bass amp? I'm pretty sure you could, I was just worried about the higher impedance in the bass amplifier choking the guitar speakers.

BTW: sorry for mentioning GUITARS in a BASS forum

If you want to kill the guitar cab, yes.

even though 12" speakers are common place for guitar and bass, they are very different animals. guitar speakers are lower wattage, have smaller magnets and do not have much movement when it comes to the cones. To produce good bass tones the cones need to move back and forth much farther than a guitar speaker can. It can be done, but at very low volumes, you will blow good guitar speakers playing then through a bass amp at anything higher than "very low volumes"
