Question COMBO GLX-110 4 ohm, to Ampeg 8x10 810E

Hi TalkBass!

I know similar questions have been asked, but im not quite sure in this case, since i dont know the powers of the 810E.

Well.. My problem is, that my 2 months newly bought (used) Ampeg SVT-CL, just burned out some power tubes or something (red and green blink when i start the amp), so i have sent it in to an engineer, and i need a bass amp to play on with my band meanwhile its geeting repaired.

I have a GLX B-110 combo amp, (RMS = 110W, 4 OHM), but it doesnt quite cut the deal volume wise, so here my questions;

Will i be able to plug my Combo amp into my Ampeg 810E without destroying any of the speakers/amps, and will it in general, be a good idea?

If yes, how?
My combo amp has the following outputs:
Headphone, Ext Speaker, and Pre Out. Which should i use in this case?

And furthermore.. Which jack on my 810E should i plug into?
1. 1/4” Upper 4X10 Dual Mode
Input Jack

Or..
1/4” Lower 4X10 Dual Mode or
Mono Mode Input / Output Jacks

Thanks in advance!

I wasn't able to find an online manual for that combo amp, but it seems to me like you should be able to connect the Ext Speaker output of the amp to the Ampeg's 1/4" Mono Mode input.

You will probably need to disconnect the combos internal speaker(s) to use the 810.

Well, i dont know if i will be able to open it, and just disconnect the combos speaker, but i can try. Will it hurt the internal speakers if i dont disconnect them?

No, it will hurt the amp, as it would be running a 2 ohm load.
