Combo as master

Has anybody ever played with a combo as master and an active cab as slave?
I really like the sounds of my combo but it is only 100 watts and 1x12. Thinking of an active 2x12" cab..

Roland makes a combo that can be mated to a powered cab. I own a DB 700 and have always wanted to try the powered cab.

I am speaking of the Roland Cube100 - the Roland DB series combos and the powered cab are not produced any longer!

Just noticed your other thread. I'm hoping the powered 115 will be a blowout item soon. Still want to try one with my DB 700. You may also want to check out some PA type powered cabs; I know Mackie and Peavey make some.

Try it with a 4ohm cab. I tried my Roland with a Yamaha 1-10 cab that's now discontinued and the sound depth was impressive.

I occasionally run the Roland through an old Markbass head on an SWR cab, using preamp in.

You could always get a second CB100 and run the line out to the input. Just remember that the volume on the 2nd one needs to be lower than the volume on the first, engage the PAD and set to Super Flat.

I do just that. A lovely 150 W Ampeg B1 and a 300 W EBS active cab as slave.
There aren't many active cabs currently on the market. Bergantino make killer ones but they come at a price.

I want to run a set up that is powerful enough to play live with my rock band. I was thinking of buying 4 Cubes, but then there are cheaper solutions! :-) Two of them won't be enough!

As long as your combo has a 1/4" preamp or effects-send/out jack, you could use any most any other bass combo as your powered slave by simply plugging into its effects return jack. (this would bypass the slave combo preamp section and just be using its poweramp and speaker)
