Connecting Ampeg PF350 to PC/MAC

Hi everyone. I want to connect my Ampeg (xlr line out) to the line in of my laptop, so I bought the cable, plug in and surprise, It won't worked. I'm pretty sure something is missing in the middle. Do I need an external audio interface?, a DI box?, anybody?. Thanks in advance

If you want to use the XLR out, then yes, you'll need an audio interface. Otherwise, you can use the pre out (or headphone out) and connect it to your laptop line-in.

Headphone works fine. You'll run into some latency issues if you don't want to drop money on a proper interface, but nothing unacceptable for casual use.

What about the loss of quality?, it's noticeable?. Can I use the line out of the loop effect?
