Connecting My GK MB210 to an Ampeg Cab, Possible?

Sign in to disble this ad
Just recently got a GK MB210 and I was wondering if I can safely run it into a Ampeg Heritage 810 as an extension?

I'm not planning to gig with this set-up, I'm just really curious if it is possible.

Thanks for the help

Check the impedance and specs of the cab and amp?

Your MB is rated for 350W @ 8 ohms/500W @ 4 ohms

*IF* your 8X10 is 8 ohms, you can do it.

If your 8X10 is only 4 ohms, then you CANNOT run them together, or risk smoking the amp.

Well my 8x10 is 4 ohms in mono mode & 8 on dual mode. So if I hook it into the dual mode input it's like running into a 8 ohm cabinet, right?

Dual mode means that the cab is essentially split into two 8 ohm 4x10 cabs. Yes, you can hook up the MB210 to the 810 in dual mode, but you would only be using half of the speakers. Could be fun to try out, but not completely practical.
