Control knob height problem

Sign in to disble this ad
Currently I play with one cab (310 or 410) and one amp head (GK, Carvin or SWR). My problem is that the amp head sits to low for me to see or comfortably reach.

I have solved this problem by putting the amp up on another amp rack case. Now I have two amps to schelp!

When I play a loud large venue I bring an extra cab so height is not a problem.

I would like to buy or build some sort of device to raise the amp.

I have even thought about getting heavy duty velcro and sticking my lightweight class D amp on my music stand in front of me. That would be ideal! since I could visibly see the controls. Anyone ever done this?

I have seen somewhere a sloped metal plate that had a microphone stand mounting on it. I would think that a metal fabricator could do this for you quite cheaply.

I'm using a pair of 2x10s so stacking them brings my amp (Carvin) up to eye level.

A lot of places make cab stands. I'd look for those to start.

The line6 Pods have a mic stand mount. I'm sure one of those could be modified.

I have used a large 3 ring binder to prob it up so I can see/reach the controls, but I want something a little more professional. I am going to look at a semi-hard shell case. That way I can carry the amp and cords also. You know, 2 birds/1 stone thing.
