I have an Avatar B410NEO and ordered it as 4ohm, to get all the goodness from my BH500 4 ohm maximum head. I'd originally and practically ~and foolishly!~ thought I would never need more, but... I'd love a B212neo under it!
What can I switch out to convert it to an 8 ohm so I can stack it with another 8 ohm cab? Avatar told me I would have "to change all of the guts and its not worth doing. ...better off selling that cab and buying another in the ohm you want."
But I just wanted to check here in case someone has found a way around this.
In asking this question I have exposed my great ignorance...

You already know the answer, sell the cab and get an 8 ohm, or use a slave amp to drive the extra speaker cab.

Ah, the Av 410 is plenty loud on its own.
Thanks mate.

Saw Jeff Beck a few weeks ago and Rhonda Smith was playing with a (2x) 410 and 212; the review on Avatar's sight of this cab combo was also favourable. Perhaps some day I'll buy Traynor's new 412 and be done with all the bass gear want.
I'm learning from the TB community, I play bass but don't study nor create technology that we use to make our thumping sounds.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Having fun.

If you get another 4 ohm 212 and wire the 2cabs in series for an 8ohm total load that would work. I would just try the 410 alone, it might surprise you and be more than you expect. With a good head mine will do any job I have tried it with, with good results. |

We are three guitars, drums and bass. Master at 3 or 4, the bass is easily felt in the mix.
My question was brought on by a temporary case of GearGoofy. I'm thankful for what I've got.
