I have decided to convert my Goliath III cabs to speakon and totally remove and convert the 2) 1/4" jacks and disconnect the banana terminals. Unless someone here advises otherwise that I need the 4 pole, the 2 pole connectors are what I am planning on buying, but should I get the Speakon-1/4" combo jacks or just keep a few adapters in my kit?
Any dissenting opinions?

Combo jacks seem like a good idea too...

. | +1. The combo jacks are OK but are made for PC board mounting, so they're not easy to connect wires to. |

| | | | I converted my head and two cabs to Speakon and as I prefer soldered joints to screw terminals I chose Neutriks like the first two. Driver positive to 1plus, driver negative to 1minus. What you might also consider is keeping the existing 1/4" jacks and simply adding (and paralleling up) the Speakons.

When I did my 810e conversion 15? years ago there was only 4 pole. And man where they expensive! I spent about $30 for the cab jack alone, and was laughed at for doing it.
In hind sight, maybe the laughter was about what they charged me.
