Cool Cab and Head Mods?

Been looking through threads and just decided to post this one since I could find any like it.

So I play in a worship band for my christian college and my bass rig is not the prettiest, I'd like to do some body work to it so it looks good for the chapel and all the other churches I play at.

I want to go ahead and refinish the cab (an old beat up Ashdown) with a stain or something classy, and build a new head case that will protect my GK head and other rack gear.

Any suggestions or pictures??

I'm looking for cheap and simple, I'm in college and poor.
