Cool things to do with 2-channel amp heads?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I remember reading awhile back more than a few threads about 2 channel amp heads and a cool thing one can do with both channels. I have a vintage Ampeg B25 and Fender Bassman and want to bridge the two channels. I remember hearing this affects the tone and possibly the volume? How would I be able to do it? Is there a special cable hookup I can buy? If anyone could give me more information on what it does as well that would be appreciated. And if you have any other interesting things to do with 2 channel amps, I wouldn't mind trying those out either.

Also, is there anything to worry about when pulling it off?

Thanks for the info ahead of time.

I use a 6" long 1/4" cable with dual right angle ends. On the B25, I jumper the "high" input on channel one to the "low" input on channel two. Both channels now work at the same time. Sounds interesting.

If your into pedals you should try splitting your basses output... with one side going through your pedals and into either of the amps channels, and then the other line directly into the amps other input channel. Blending in a clean signal will help retain your definition allowing you to use different pedals and settings that wouldn't usually work out all that well on their own.
