I have a Genz Benz 2x10 cab and the speakers are now useless and is worth jack squat to me if it's busted. The cones are shot. I pulled them out and they are 16 ohm speakers and it's an 8 ohm cab...
So I also have this big, heavy Behringer cab with aluminum Bugera drivers in it. They are not busted. This cab is worth jack squat to me also because it's a big heavy turd that sounds nice. Pulled a speaker out, it's 4 ohm...
Can I put 2 of the Behringer/Bugera speakers into the Genz enclosure and run them at either 4 or 8 ohms and if so, how? What do I need to change, wiring wise, to make it function?
I don't care about the difference in ports cab tuning and all that... I just want to see if I can make a 2x10 cab that produces sound. It's a learning experience, mostly. I have other, just fine cabs that I use in the real world.

You need to change the GB's parallel wiring to series.

so what happened to the cab? did you get carried away? you should either get new speakers or get yours reconed. that's a very nice cab if you don't abuse it

Then it was my main rig after I downsized. Played quite a few small gigs with it and it treated me well. It was always at my practice spot and worked just fine...
About a month before a big gig, I plugged the head into the cab when the head was on and "BZZZZZZZZZZZ!" Fried something in the head.
Cab was fine and had to use my Workingmans 10 to power it and things were okay for a while, but one day... it wasn't. Figured one of a million things could have happened, but the fact was, it gave up. I pushed it too hard, the other people that may have used it may have screwed it up, age... didn't know.
So I replaced it with the Acme Low B2 and it has been sitting. Just lucked out on a boatload of gear on the cheap a few days ago, the Behringer cab being one of the items. Figured "what the heck" and just today, popped two speakers into it.
It works, sounds solid. I don't know what to listen for that would indicate that this ISN'T working, but I haven't really cranked it or anything.
I am not abandoning the GB speakers for good, though. I can recone, I can upgrade, but I'm in no rush at the moment.
