a couple questions...

Hello everyone,

I don't think I've posted here before, but I'm a long time lurker. I've also had a few so take that into account. I just started w/ a band that tunes down to C. Prolly a lot of fuzz on my end.

Here's what I have.

GK 800rb head
GK 410 goldie cab 8 ohm
GK old school grey carpet 15 w/ a bw 8 ohm
Acoustic 406 w/ original speakers 4 ohm

Questions now.

The 406 is rated @200 watts. Is is safe to run it by itself w/the 800rb?

If I go straight GK stack (comfortable w/ watts and everything), can I go straight from the preamp out of the 800rb to a straight power amp (which I have) to the 406? Do I need a preamp in between?

I'm a fan of cheap ugly rigs so I'm just trying to make the most of what I have. I have a feeling I'm gonna need to keep up with a wall of guitar cabs lol.

Ive read through a bunch of threads but many seem a bit overly technical for me. I haven't tried to be loud for quite a few years.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks guys.

You'll have to keep an eye on your volume with the 800rb running that 406 but you could do it. Not sure about going preamp out to another power amp, though...it might disconnect the power amp in the 800rb...you could probably find out in the manual, though.

Not that GK users won't know the answers to alot of GK questions here on TB, but, GK does have it's own Forum where you can ask all kinds of questions about GK gear. It's nice to hear stuff straight from the source sometimes.
