Craigslist Find: Avatar Neo 4x10 or 2x12 Delta

I located two cabs on CL and can't decide what cab would be best. I have a 1x12 and 2x10 that I use, but I am looking to get a second rig for gigs and/or practice. I was thinking a 2x12to pair up with the 2x10 or 4x10 later on should I need more cab. The 4x10 find is a Neo cab and the 2x12 is a Delta. I believe the Neo cabs are lighter. Suggestions?

Matching cabs are always preferred. If you mix cabs, you must test them first, to see how well the play together, or not.

If U already HAVE a 2x10 then the 410 neo makes sense (check 'em out together 1st- see how they mix n match-as Rick says) The U Could run(if impedances are OK BOTH cabs having essetially a 6x10...
I VOTED 2x12- simply coz I like 12"s better'n 10"s & grabbing the 2x12" would ALSO make sense(again IF the impedances aren't too low for yr amp) coz U could run the 1x12 U already have WITH the 2x12... Big a Boom!!!
For ME it'd depend on my amps lowest useable impedance load, what SOUNDS best when mated to what is already owned, &/or weight & loading ability-car size etc..

Having played through both those cabs, I would wager the 2x12 will have more low end, and the 4x10 will have more punch.

I owned both of these. The delta 2x12 is a fantastic cab.
The 4x10 was a great cab as well, but the 2x12 was more full sounding in my experience.

All the cabs are 8-ohms both, the new and my cabs. I currently run bridged mono 4-ohm with the two 8-ohm cab using a a PLX QSC 1202. The PLX can handle lower impedence without too much problem but I would not recommend it.

i have both in delta version . both are great. i love the 12's and use it much more than the 410. Great deep tones.... but that is my choice - but the 410 is tighter sounding. clear like a bell. what sound are you looking for....

I am looking for a second rig to do gigs and practice with. I like the lighter weight of the Neo 4x10 cab (56-lbs?). I believe the 2x12 is a bit heavier. (70-lbs weight?) One rig will stay at church and the second I will use for practic and gigs. I have used one 4x10 on large outdoor stages - this was enough cab.

I have the 210 that I use for practice and small gigs. I match it with an old Crate 118 for large venues and outdoors. I've played Avatar's 212 and find it excellent. If you didn't already have a 410, I'd say go for the 212, but a 610 configuration really kicks ass.

How about 2x12s and 2x10s combination? It seem the advise I'm getting is go with all tens or a single 2x12 cab.

Being that Neos are going up in price dramatically you may want to jump on it while it's still reasonable.

I was thinking that. I like the lighter weight of this cab and could always add a second cab.

I purchased the Avatar 4x10 NEOs. It has new speakers - 6 monthes old. The previous owner replaced the Kapps Pros with the NEOs. His amp was bad and blew the speakers. I believe this was the best choice. The 2x12 cab was older and heavier Deltas. I will let you know my opinion on the NEA cab. First impression is great tone and light weight. I have not giged it yet.

Actually, I think the 410 is few pounds heavier than the 212. I prefer the 212 over the 410, but I think it is largely a matter of individual taste.
