Ya, it's a new thing the kids are doing nowadays... they insert random vowels between consonants. It makes anything bland sound exotic and therefore rare and valuable. Try it.

Fender, pronounced "Fen-AH-dur"
Ampeg, pronounced "Am-AH-peg"

Not that Fender and Ampeg are bland. I should have said "common."

A little, useless, random corn-laiden nugget for ya....... Did you know some of the first amps produced by Karate were actually made to look like wooden crates???? Now. Go spread it to all who don't give a rat's ass.

I blame it on testing. They've been leaving vowels OUT and now they have lots of them to use up ----------- and they just gotta go somewhere.

There were original Crate amps that had cases made of the equivilent of Wooden Palette material. They looked like wooden Crates. Hence the connection. They sounded like complete **** and no speaker replacement could help them.

But I'm sure no youngster has any clue of those existing.

so, the amp sux, sure... but the speakers---- those are G8L-35 celestions at 4 ohms. so far, the *best* speaker ive ever had in a fender champ amp (from a guitard perspective, of course). i have also considered the merits of using one in a two-way bass cab, ala fEARful, as the midrange character of this speaker is crisp yet warm, and probably doesnt extend too far past 5k--- i am pretty anti-tweeter for bass, but i cant argue the merits of improved mid dispersion. if i were local, i would give a lowball offer of $50 or so and see if he bit, then try and unload the now-unloaded amp for $30 or so.

karate... lol.

Accent aigu, not accent grave

...and the Targét thing seems to go right along with the silliness of pronouncing Detroit as it would actually be in French around these parts.

moar started out as a meme, sprouting from a popular internet imageboard. it was used in jest, right along side all of the other lulspeak that is used in those silly cat pictures, you know which ones i'm talking about.

but since it has leaked into the mainstream, the usage has changed, and is now simply redundant.

also...

I used to sell those original Crate amps when I worked at GC back in 1980 or so. They sucked. But frankly so did many of the amps of that era. I had a '62 Pro Reverb that was the cat's meow, and a little later a Pignose 150 Crossmix that sounded amazing until an op amp blew and it was never the same again.
