Arrow Crate Taxi 15, Crate Taxi 50 or Roland Street Cube? Decision time!

So. I'm due to play a gig in a small park next to town in a couple of weeks. I'm playing with vocals, guitar and a small drum kit with brushes. I'm planning to play through a peavey 15 companion guitar amp and also either a crate taxi 15 or 50, or a roland street cube in order to get some sufficient volume.

The taxi 15 is only £100, while the taxi 50 and the street cube are twice the price at £200. Do you think that the taxi 15 combined with the peavey will be enough to survive in quite an open situation or will I need to splash out on the big guns?

There is also the BSK66,

This is considerably cheaper, does it compare to the others though?

Any experience with any of these amps or preferences or advice would be great

Here is where we are playing, http://www.stewartb.com/misc-pics/cambridge-1.jpg

Cheers

I've played the Taxis, but isn't one called a Limousine?

The Crates have always held a warm spot in my playing - on guitar days and when I needed portable power. The biggest thing going for the Limo (TX50DB Limo 50W) is the clarity and extra headroom with a larger driver and more Wattage.

Remember that none of these are specifically designed to push bass frequencies though, so I'd opt for the biggest and most powerful since you're not gonna be able to crank them as high as you might like.

It's no question to me that if you are playing bass and you're gonna be outdoors, then MORE WATTS & MOVING MORE AIR are what it's all about, so the Limo would always be my choice.

Unless you're playing chamber music and need to keep it low, you'll be hurting without the extra capacity of the Limo.

That Peavey is very OK for a guitar, but a bass will likely make it barf pretty quick when you push it - and you WILL push it outdoors.

That BSK66, is only 6 Watts and a tiny driver, so there must be a lot of frustration in playing that with a bass.

If you provide the beer and bangers, and a BBQ, I'll be there tomorrow! Nice place to play.

Do you have to get on a waiting list to play there? How about a 'performers' license'?
