Crest LA901 amp operation in bridged mode

I have acquired a Crest LA 901 amp and need to run it bridged to drive a pair of 4 ohm subwoofers. Anyone out there have one of these or a manual that tells how to configure the amp for bridged operation? I would rather check first rather than hook it up wrong and hurt the amp. Thanks in advance!

It's highly unlikely that the amp will be able to bridge into a 2Ω load. That would require the amp to run into 1Ω per channel and that I've never seen. You'll have to run the amp with both channels in parallel with one sub per channel.

correct, you will put the input switch to parallel and run one 4 ohm cab from each speaker output.

Thanks for the help!

I was unable to find a manual on the Crest LA901. However the FA series manual shows the detail of the stereo/bridge/parallel switch. Basically, you use the input A and connect down to a four ohm load to each of the outputs in the same manner as you do for stereo. You still have control over each channels volume using the attenuator. There is no way I would ever try to run a two ohm load ever on this amp. Thanks for your help.

The Crest LA901 is rated for 8 Ohms bridged.

I wrote the original owner's manual for that series 22 years ago. Bridging into a 2Ω load is not good for most amps, but especially so for a relatively light-duty range like the LA Series.

Instead, put a 4Ω load on each channel and run the amp in parallel (i.e., inputs tied together).
