Yes, but...Crown has built battery-powered amps in the 10 kw class for use at nuclear power plants.

This sheet is funny. I bet it's their 4/1 press release.

For safety's sake, you'd definitely want to use a Rane PI 14 as a buffer:

Just a little history, afaik, that datasheet was released on a April 1.....1992ish

fast forward about 10 years, Roland's Italian design team released the Virtual Accordian....on April 1, not knowing that since the belchfire, many companies had April 1 product launches trying to outdo crown and that April 1st releases had become quite the gag for April fools. By then the internet was in full swing and ......can you imagine the meetings at Roland afterwards?

That's a little less impressive than the Crown MA-10,000, which puts out 10,560 watts into 0.85 ohms. And it's real.

Uhh, sysexguy... you unearthed this thread from last year just to inform us that there are some companies making April Fools joke advertisements, and that Roland was one of them?

no, the Roland launch was serious, but the timing was off, and yes I think the original post is funny, even almost 20 years later

Apparently it's been fairly successful, because they've launched a whole bunch of models at different price points with different feature sets. Here's a cool sample. Check out some of this guy's other videos.
