K2's are sorta hard to find, but I was especially interested in the K2 for these reasons:
- Low power consumption (according to Crown)
- Power output is close match w/my subs' ratings (K2=425 watts @ 8ohms per side, cabs rated for 400)
- Reputation for good/solid/deep bass output
- Quiet (K2 design doesn't have a fan)
I currently have two Bag End SE-18s and the ELF processor, plus a Bill Fitzmaurice Omni 2x12 cab for mids/highs. I'm driving everything with one mid size Carvin power amp (2 subs on one channel, and the BFM on the other) and it's time to add more power (Carvin goes into clipping mode before I get as loud as I need, and before the ELF protection kicks in). I figure I should drive one sub per channel of the K2 (or amp you suggest), and then drive the BFM with the Carvin.
Because I plan on using two power amps for my setup (as well as a whole slew of pedals and a mixer) and I play at some dodgy places, the low power consumption of the K2 seemed like a good feature for my setup. Is this even important? I really have a poor understanding of power consumption and electrical issues. Even if you explain it, it might be lost on me.

Mongo not smart.
So do I need to worry about power consumption? If yes, can you recommend a great amp to drive subs that are rated at 400 watts? I want to get the most low end from the Bag End subs with the least amount of risk blowing them, or blowing fuses at the local warehouse show.
(Note: I use oscillators to get some low rumbles. I go pretty low, and I need to have those rumbles as loud as possible. I'm not playing a bass guitar through this system. It sounds great now, I just need more power... safely.)
