Crown xti 2000 vs. xti 2002? (etc). New xti versions...

I need an amp to drive some subs... the xti 2000 output specs look pretty close to what I want (and the weight seems nice) but now I see there is a new 2002 version (new xti amps at all power levels).

I was told the DSP chip was upgraded... not sure how important that is to me. I'm interested in the Limiter (theoretically) although it's not clear to me how it works, on a practical level, different than just not running the amp full-on (I think I just hijacked my own thread).

Anyway, anybody know if there are advantages to going with the xti2002 over the xti2000? The 2000 is about 25% cheaper, where I am looking. I don't want to miss a useful upgrade, just to save a little money.

Also, do these amps run fairly quiet? Okay for recording?

well, i have three xti2000's and i don't have any complaints with them at all. they've been pushed hard for the last year and a half and haven't missed a beat. i love 'em. it's possible that the new '2' series is just too new to have anyone be able to make the comparison between the old and new version s for you.

+1 to what John said, I have two XTi 2000 with zero issues.
The XTi 2002 is too new for comparisons.
