crown XTI question

if the back fan suppose to always be on? I noticed on my XTI2000 that the fan wasnt spinning when i turned it on today. I didnt notice if it turned on or not at practice this weekend but the front of the amp was hot 3 hours in. So im curious if I should be worried it wasnt spinning when I turned it on just now.

The website says the XTI has a "proportional speed fan", so maybe it only goes on when the temperature of the amplifier reaches a certain point.

on all of my xti's (5 of them), the fan isn't on when you power it up. and on all of them, it only comes on when it needs to.
