Custom Cabinet Grills?

Sign in to disble this ad
im looking to get a custom grill for my ampeg 410hlf.

nothing crazy fancy, i just really dislike cloth grills for some reason :P

id like one similar to the GK RBH series... just a matte black square metal grill.

anyway, real question is...
i remember seeing a banner here for a company who made custom grills! but i have no idea the name or anything

anyone have a clue where i can get said grill?!

I made my own. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and get the frame material ( aluminum ) to make window screens. Then get some of the reinforced screening that is used to protect your screen from pets. I used this on a pair of dual 15's for years.

I think you are thinking of Reliable Hardware. I have never used any of their product but I have seen them referenced here often. If you don't mind cutting and painting the material yourself, McMaster-Carr has most of the same metal patterns, just in bare metal.

I'm pretty sure they're the one with the banner ad here.

This is what the baffle looks like. You will have to build a frame/edging connecting all 4 corners so you can mount the grill. I would take it a step further and have the grill maker roll the edges 90 degrees, and adjust the grill spacing to hold it. Good luck!

It looks like he could mount a flat grill to each of those triangular pieces in the corners, and maybe just one or two more mounting points in the middle to prevent flapping. Just get some rubber standoffs (or just use rubber cabinet feet the same depth as the triangles).
