|  | vintage bass nut John K Custom Basses | | Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Thousand Oaks, CA | | | i just weighed the cab with the herculiner coating on it. it now weighs 25 lbs 12.7 oz so the bedliner added only 12.7 oz. by comparison, i just weighed the same sq ft worth of tolex that it would've taken to cover it and would have added 3lbs 12 oz, not including the glue to glue it on. i'm guesing that it would've taken an additional 8-10 oz worth of glue at the minimum, so i'm really happy that i went with the bedliner on it. |

Having a 2x15 that's under 50 pounds is definitely very tempting. Although I'd probably still use "old school" speakers like JBLs or EVs which would make it probably 20lbs heavier. But even 70 pounds or so for a 2x15 is pretty good. |

|  | vintage bass nut John K Custom Basses | | Join Date: Feb 2008 Location: Thousand Oaks, CA | | | i haven't actually measured the freq response yet (i intend to when it's finished), but the specs say it's -10db at 40Hz, and pretty flat from 100hz to 3.5Khz with 103.8 sensitivity so it doesn't take much power to get it LOUD. |

Just a curiosity, where's your port air velocity ending up? I would imagine between the compact design and those drivers capabilities, your displacement limit is way up there. Not that you'd ever need to run it that hard. |

It's the only consistent measure you can use for this kinda thing. Yes, there are peaks and dips in the mids, but the real number you can count on fairly well is that one.
*Barefaced has a method of calculating broadband, lf, and mf spl that's pretty good.
