Damaged amp? So I use an adapter so i can run mp3's from my phone to my hartke lh1000 and hydrive 410. I figure a bass amp is gonna be a little bias with the sound. Is it bad if like a whole guitar lick is pretty much gone(barely audible) when played out the amp? And some parts of songs are static ridden? Ive never even used that amp past half volume. I did accidentally disconnect the phone once and get that pop though. |
Sounds like you have the amp set for a scooped tone. As far as the static try your phone in airplane mode when playing the MP3s. |
Hi. What kind of an adapter? If it's the "usual" 1/8" stereo jack -> 1/4" stereo plug, You'll only get left channel if the jack in the amp is mono (or stereo without R-S switching contacts). Some (stereo) jacks can short the right channel to the ground. If You have the rarer adapter 1/8" stereo jack to 1/4" mono plug, it's possible to have phase issues when the l & R are just connected together. The "right" way is to sum the channels with a mixer, either a passive or active. OTOH, a 1/8" to 2*RCA (and a RCA -> 1/4" adapter) or 2*1/4" will allow You to listen either the R or the L channel separately. Regards Sam |
Thanks guys. But the static is on certain parts of different songs even with airplane mode. |
Who do you even go to with amp problems? |
