dat tone what do i need to get this tone what should my amp and bass driver settings be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUakv7og88M |
message him on youtube and ask? |
Wont answer |
Sounds to me like it's in the attack and the tuning. Otherwise it sounds line in with no effects. |
I don't hear anything out of the ordinary here. There's certainly no overdrive. Fresh strings, heavy attack, direct into the computer. There might be some kind of amplifier simulator on there but it sounds like a fairly flat EQ if so. Good flat metal tone. Good player too; that's where most of the tone is coming from. |
+1 to everyone else, thats a pretty standard BDDI tone. |
That sounds nothing like a BDDI to me. It sounds like strings with no tension on them plugged straight in to the sound card. It sounds real sterile to me. No bass, No body, No grit. |
tone is in the hands dude. otherwise the rest is the sound of the bass and strings. sounds like a 6string bass being played with fing... gurs maybe you like the sound of that low b more so if its tuned down. |

but it could use some midrange punch and some grit. without the music it might sound like it has a little more bass but with the boomy guitars and drums. clickety clakety click click click all you hear. I hate string/fret noise. hey kinda a genre thing, I do enjoy metal though. |
Yeah, the guy is good and I am impressed with the execution, but man, that music just sucks. |
I got a similar tone out of my Carvin LB76 ( which he also uses ) going straight into the sound card and playing agressive with new strings and the bridge pickup soloed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKzabDj_oWw |
What tone? I don't hear any. It's all fingers, RH impacting the strings off the fretboard. The bass is probably set up with quite low action. It's definitely 34" scale or smaller, gives the strings a little less tension. I don't hear BDDI in it. |
