On the back of the amp there are two "amp out" 1/4 inch jacks. They are mounted one above the other. Right in between them it says "4 ohm load". Which one is the four ohm jack? Are they actually both 8ohm jacks and the 4ohm load only created when you use both jacks with two separate 8ohm cabinets? I have had two cabinets in parallel by using the extention out on one into the input on the other, but only going to one jack on the amp. Is this running a 4ohm load from a 8ohm jack??

Either run a lead to the 1st cab and then a lead between the cabs to feed the 2nd cab, or run 2 individual leads from the amp to each cab. Either way this will create a 4 ohm load for the amp as the connections on the back of the amp and on the speaker cabs are wired up in parallel so the you end up with the same result.
Hope this helps.

I was really surprised when the 410xst put out more and better sound with half the wattage. Already putting money in the coffee can for the "companion" cabinet GAS attack that I know cant be too far away!! Thanks Again!!

The two jacks on the back of the Eden WT400 are wired parallel, 4 ohm indicated the minimum impedance of the total combined load.

I have the WT400 and have asked this question in the past as it does say '4ohm' on one jack and '8ohm' on the other. Pay no attention to this.
The two jacks merely give you the option of running:
*An 8 ohm cab into each jack
OR
*Using one jack to power an 8 ohm cab, and then attaching the other 8ohm cab to the first cab.
* The other option is to use one 4 ohm cab.
* All options equate to a total 4 ohm load (unless you wanted to run just one 8 ohm cab for 250watts output from the WT400). |
