David eden wt1205 troubleshoot

Last night during a gig my signal kept cutting in and out. It wasn't the bass,or cable. I own a David Eden wt1205 and it has 2 channels and each channel has powered by it's own tubes. In was playing on channel 1 when the signal was cutting out. When I switched to channel 2 The signal was fine. Also I'm not running it in bridge mode. Anyway does this sound like I need to replace the tubes? I noticed before channel 1 completely stopped working that I had to turn my gain and master up pretty high just to get sound out of amp..

Sounds likely to be tube. It would be an easy and cheap attempt before a trip to a tech if other issues wind up being the cause.

Might be the tube, but start with cleaning all the connectors. The FX send and return jacks are switching jacks. Over time dirt and corrosion build up in the contact points of the switching parts, ESPECIALLY if you never use them.

Get some Caig's De-Oxit spray cleaner. Spray a little on a 1/4" plug then insert and remove it a few times. Repeat on all the jacks. Then I would open up the amp ( make sure it's unplugged before and don't loose any of the infernally small screws). Use the nozzle to spray a small bit of cleaner into the wiper track of each pot, the rotate the pot quickly. I'd also pull the tube and clean the tube socket.

If this cleaning doesn't fix, then try a new tube.

My wifes old Trace Elliot SMX250 had that start happening. Turned out the contact "spring" in the input jack had relaxed just enough to barely make contact with the plug. It'd work fine 90% of the time and just drop out at random. Was able to fix it with one of those dental picks and a little patience.
