DEAL OF THE CENTURY!

Sign in to disble this ad
I just picked up an Avatar 410 8 ohms for 75$! I traded in a peavey 210tx and got 50 bucks off the already incredibly low price of 125 for the Avatar! I don't know much about this cab except that I could not pass up that deal.

anyone know what type of drivers are in this cab? I just pulled one and it has no model or maker or anything. The cone is a bluish gray color. The cab is rated for 8 ohms. There isnt any indication of the wattage?

Well they're Eminence but it's hard to tell which ones. Likely either Deltas or Neos. Is it pretty light? Front or rear ports? Pics?

it seems very light. the magnet is silver, donut shaped with black "fins" surrounding it. the cab is front ported on the bottom.

small sivler magnet with fins... donut shape. yeah, sounds like the neo's. IMO Thats a really nice cab if you dont mind the size in todays current age of micro rigs.

great price, though you could have gotten more for the PV so they deal is maybe 50 bucks - 75 bucks less good that you think.

either way, nice job.

i got the PV for free so its all good in my book. had no use for it anyway besides low volume practice. BTW i'm not into the whole micro rig thing. I like having some meat on my cabs haha

Yup, definitely Neos. Sorry, you're in the lightweight category ...that same cab with ceramic magnets would weigh at least 20 lbs. more.

Go to avatarspeakers.com and click on B410 Neo. That's your guy.

The power rating is 250 watts RMS, it's a 1000W cab. Great cab, enjoy it.

Another question: My amp can handle a 2 ohm load. Can I connect my Avatar to my peavey 410 (both 8 ohm cabs) from one output on my amp, and have my 115 connected to the other (also 8 ohms)? Does this reduce the load of the 2x410s to 16 ohms? Anyone ever tried this?

both 410s at 8 ohms each equate to 4 ohms. 3 cabs of 8 ohms equate to 2.67 ohms. (4) 8 ohm cabs will equate to 2 ohms.

I understand the basic principle ( I have read the faq's numerous times!) but I'm asking specifically: the avatar has 2 1/4" jacks. If i run a wire from my amp to the avatar, and from the avatar to another 8 ohm 410, ( i think this is called series?) does this increase or decrease the overall impedance?

Wiring from one cab to another is still a parallel connection, it's still 2.67Ωs total just like Johnny Mack said.
