Dear Larry Hartke

Please build a Hartke 212xl for me... I have the 210xl's and would like to use 12's for a little deeper tone. It would look like the Mesa Powerhouse 212 with wheels but with the Hartke price... I like your stuff.

Thanks

You won't necessarily get a deeper tone from 12s. Bigger speaker does not equal deeper tone.

You know what would be sweet? If Hartke found a way to downsize the preamp on the HyDrive combos (115C and 210C) to micro amp size, added an aux-in, headphone out, 2 speakon/quarter-inch speaker outs and a bumped it up to 500 watts at 4 ohms. I'd be an all hartke man then.

+1.

Why not get a 4.5XL? It's a great sounding cab with very nice lows.

weight, size?

I just retired a 4.5xl and the hartke 2x10 I tried to use just wasn't enough. Went with a Genz 2x12 instead. If Hartke had a neo 2x12 I'd probably have that instead right now. Not that I don't absolutely love the GB, but I've been a faithful Hartke user for over 15 years and would have gone there first.

I remember seeing Hartke ads in old bass magazines inviting the public to give Larry a call if you have something to ask (even giving the guy's phone number). Nice to know that wasn't a spoof ad after all.

Definitely not. I've seen him post his cell phone number on TB on more than one occasion.

Kwesi you hit that note perfectly. I just went through a combo hunt and was really liking Hartke's options. What you described would have made my choice Hartke. For a variety of considerations I've ended up with the new TCE BG500-210. Just an hour or two playing with it so far, its fabulous-o!

A 212 would be ultimate speakers... choice was down to the GK MB212 or the BG. BG'S features and TC's rep won me. But a Hartke 212HxC with your suggested features would have been my choice.

Larry, build it and we will come!

Hehe, the HyDrive combos are what got me to get my current rig now and I dont regret it in the least it sounds killer. The only reason I don't own a LH1000 is because it cant fit in my gigbag.

I cant think of anything more perfect for my needs than a Hydrive 6x10 with good casters and handles like an ampeg 6x10.

And weighing closer to 80lbs than 100lbs would be gravy since the hydrives are so light.

Oh, and Larry, please make the LH series amps less prone to knob loss. All of 72 of the used LH3500's I saw at GC didn't have any as they had all been mysteriously sheared off.

You could always PM him too, I've seen him about these parts.

Calling is a good way forward tho

Must admit, I wish the Hartke gear did it for me tonally. I love the way that man runs the company! Not to mention the price and quality of the gear!
