Dear Santa.

I'd like a 150W-ish all tube head that stays reasonably clean even when turned up to moderately hi levels but still has teeth, just one channel, a hi and a lo input, Treble-Middle-Bass and Master Volume controls, and no frills other than a decent direct out, and give it a small enclosure footprint so it can sit neatly on some smaller cabs I have. It can be tall and funny looking if need be. Can you bring me such a thing? Oh and I'm still waiting for a black and white pony too.

Kindest regards,
TD

You know it, and less than 40lbs too. Don't forget Jimmy, Santa IS Magic. Or I guess I could just get a v4 or a Buster and not be so needy.

Doesn't Orange already make something like this? Or is it just like a 25W amp?

Your coming pretty dam close to describing a Mesa Buster there.

In seriousness, I am curious why there are not more product offerings like this. Micro fever perhaps.

I do not mean this as a shameless plug, but there is one in the classifieds right now. Yes, it's mine but I'm posting this in case Santa needs to find one for you.

Dear Santa,

Please bring me the last forty years of my life and all that other stuff TripleD said.

A Buster seems like a winner to me too, the one I've heard before sounded just awesome.

And shameless plug encouraged re: Alphabass, cool amp. That's pretty much the type of product I'm talking about. Even at that very reasonable price, I probably shouldn't buy anything until holiday travel and gifting is done, and I'm sure that will sell fast. Could you describe the tone in comparison to your SVT-II? And if possible, what does "loud" mean for that dude? Obviously not SVT loud, but perhaps unbridged 800rb loud?

The Alphs is NOT a loud amp. However, the EQ more than makes up for it. I've used mine in a 200 seat hall with no PA support. With alphas it's all about getting the EQ right.

Yeah, that's almost a Buster right there, but there is only one input on that amp so it doesn't function that well with super-high output basses.

I'll play...

Dear Santa,
Since I already have a Source Audio bass envelope filter under the tree, my only other wish is for a Music Man Sterling 5 with matching headstock and dual humbuckers. Preferable forest green. Cookies and milk are for suckers, I'll leave you steak and beer.

Very nice, I guess if Santa wants to bring me the ability to remember the bridge to "I Want You Back", that'd be really cool too, as much fun as it is to relearn it every time I have to do a party gig.
