Hi everyone,

Have done a search on this but didn't seem to bring much up.

I am looking for a new 4x10 to go with my trace Elliot 1x15 and trace Elliot ah600-12. I have actually got two trace 4x10s however they are killing my back moving them around even with help!

I have looked at the new model TE 410 and done a bit of research and found that it is about 6kg lighter than the ones iv currently got, so would that be much of a difference in weight?

I have seen Mark Bass do a light weight 410 but its above my price range as its about £800 and my limit is probably 600.

I play in a rock band also incase that helps. Any help would be spot on

Cheers

Mark

Before anyone screams at you, alot of people here are going to straight up tell you not to use a 410 with a 115. There are near infinite number of threads on the topic so if you are interested in that direction feel free to search.

6 kg is like 14-15 pounds, so unless you have roadies that makes a big difference in anything not involving a dolly.

The best lightweight 410 I've come across is the Epifani line, but that might not be available budget wise overseas. Living in the UK have you looked at Barefaced speakers? They are by far the most intriguing to me at the moment, are made in the UK, and are super light weight.

800 pounds for the Mark Bass 410 seems way overboard, I bet you can get something much nicer for less.

4x10 <> light

Sorry - even the lightest 4x10's are heavy... though trace cabs are extra heavy, no doubt.

In your shoes, I'd strongly consider another 15, just like the one you've got. A pair of 15's is a beautiful thing.

Best and cheapest bet might be to put removable casters on the TE cabs, since it looks like the 1048H doesn't come with them. That, or good furniture dollies.

Nice cabs, available in 8ohm or 4ohms, and very lightweight. I think the 410 is in the low 50 pound range... pretty amazing.

At the high end, Epifani 410UL and the Bergantino AE410 are both in the low 60 pound range.

I believe EBS has a lightweight line which is more affordable outside the US, but have never played that line. GK also makes some decent lightweight cabs, including a 410.

To combine with a 15, assuming that 15 is 8ohm, an 8ohm 210 might be the way to go... more balance between the wattage each driver gets, and obviously smaller and lighter. It will still give you some nice additional ooomph though.
