So here is the deal. I have the chance to get an Ampeg SVT-410HLF or an Orange OBC115. I want to get both, but can only afford 1 right now (Orange at home and practice or Ampeg at Church). Which should I get? Please explain.

I don't know anything about the Orange Cabs but I do have
(2) Ampeg 410hlf's. IMO, these are some of the better Ampeg products. I would'nt expect to see an 810E at church but with the 410hlf you can always add another one and go from there. I run a Fender TB1200 head through mine and I have pleanty of head-room...................Good luck

Orange... but i'm only saying that so you don't buy something to leave it at a church

yeah, I will be running my SR4 -> LMII -> (new cab). if I get the ampeg it will not stay at church 100% of the time, just more often than the orange.

Do you really need a 410 at church? A 112 or so should be plenty.

well, my church has seating for 2000 and 35 ft ceilings. so 112 won't do the trick. curently running 2 x 15 bag ends and want to downsize a bit.

I love the sound I get from my OBC115, lots of real, thumping vintage bass tone. It's one of the best cabs out there.

Two very different sounding cabs.

You need to get some ear time with each, and figure out which will work best for your situation.

The 410hlf is a 4 ohm cab, so it would have to be used alone with that amp.

Thanks for the reply guys! I went to a local shop today and played both cabs. And the winner is... Ampeg SVT410HLF. The best part is, I traded in a Shuttle 3.0 w/ 10" cab. And I got it for $200.00. My wife just rolled here eyes. Gotta say I'm quite impressed with this cab!!!
