Demeter HBP 1 tube

The tube in my Demeter HBP 1 has gone out. Does anybody of a suggestion on a good replacement tube for this preamplifier? I am not familiar with all the differences of tubes. Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

I experimented with a few NOS GE 12AX7's, but I really couldn't hear much difference between them and the EH 12AX7 that came in it new. Over time the GE became microphonic, so I replaced it with a new EH.

I've got a friend who's way into NOS tubes, and I may do some side by side comparing with what he has, but for now I'm happy with the EH 12AX7 that Demeter uses. They're also pretty inexpensive, which is nice IMO.

As far as i remember, the H isn't all that sensitive to tube changes. Even the regular 2 tube units didn't seem to sound radically different with different tubes, but the H in particular doesn't really sound all that different.

I'd say go with what you can find locally, and buy a spare.
