Diagnostic - Amp or speaker?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was hoping some of you kind TB experts could give me a quick diagnosic. When I turn my amp on, it sounds clear and powerful for the first 5 minutes. After that, it becomes much quieter and the tone starts to sound horrible. I am trying to figure out if the amp or the speaker is at fault. I would try switching out for a different head or cab, but I don't have one.

If it matters, it's a Line 6 studio 110 that has been converted into a separate head and cab.

Anyone have experience with this kind of issue?

are you using just the original speakers or did you add more speakers? if the impedance dropped because of adding/different speakers it may overheat and sound crappy.

line 6 studio 10

1 st---- make sure the impedence of the speaker is the same.

Then go to the line 6 website (or the manual if you have it),
follow the proceedure to restore the settings to factory.

It's possible the compressor is kicking in.

I'm using the original speaker, so the impedence is not the problem. Thanks for the advice guys, I'll try resetting it.
