Question Did Gallien-Krueger ever produce 410RBH cabinets with 8 speakers?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys. I just came across something odd about Gallien-Krueger's 410RBH cabinets.

Check out the following pic of Tim Foreman, the bass player of Switchfoot.

In that pic, Tim is using a GK 410RBH cabinet that is housing eight speakers.

However, if you check out the GK website, it shows that the 410RBH cabinet has only four speakers.

http://www.gallien-krueger.com/products_rbh_series.html

As a Switchfoot fan, I know for a fact that Tim uses GK 410RBH cabinets.

Why does Tim's 410RBH have eight speakers, while the 410RBH shown on the GK website has only four?

Are there any GK users here who would have any idea?

Oh God this is either the best joke ever or a learning experience.

The answer to the riddle is! 810RBH. What did I win Bob?

Edit: Looks a lot like a rebadged backline 810, the 810BLX: http://www.music-filibe.com/webshop/...-BASS-BOX.html

This is a pretty common mistake. I used to play a 210 cab, then one day I discovered 2 more speakers in a whole separate cab underneath!

I play an SWR 112 now. I should check if there is another speaker in there.

Ignore all these snobs! They all asked the same question once and were probably made fun of themselves. You have to ask questions to learn so don't let them get to you!

410 means 4 x 10, as in four 10" speakers. If it's an 810 that means 8 x 10, in other words eight 10" speakers. A 212 would presumably be two 12" speakers etc.

i think it's a good time to point out that musicians do change their equipment from time to time, and retouching old pictures to reflect these changes is pretty time consuming.
