Directory of boutique tube bass amp builders....

I don't know if this has been done before, but I thought that it would be nice to have a list of the guys that are building all tube bass amps. I guess the first question would be 'what constitutes boutique?' For the purpase of this list, I'm looking for the little known builders. Obvioulsy, there is Orange and Mesa etc. but everyone knows them.

To get us started:

Reinhardt: http://www.reinhardtamps.com/files/Bass.html

Electrosonic will build anything: http://electrosonicamplifiers.com/

Electric: http://www.electricamp.com/

Reeves: http://www.reevesamps.com/index.php?...d=27&Itemid=50

Hiwatt UK: http://www.hiwatt.co.uk/

Kendrick--I know Gerald is working on a bass amp: http://www.kendrick-amplifiers.com/

Alessandro: http://www.alessandro-products.com/amp-basset.html

Verellen: http://www.verellenamplifiers.com/

Divided by 13: http://www.dividedby13.com/
Who else.........????

I've never dealt with either company. I'm just happy to see bass specific offerings from both.

The Reeves Custom 225 is one of very few 100% hand wired all tube offerings.

No critical proprietary PC boards was a big selling point for me.

Far better build quality than any new offering from Hiwatt.

none to add currently, but in my 10 year plan I hope to be building a few heads a year

(yet I haven't even started my first build... just something I've been wanting to do forever now)

I'm excited to hear how yours comes out. Sounds like it's going to be killer.

Weber looks promising. Kit or they can recommend someone to hand build it for you.

I would say check out Green Amps.

http://www.greenamps.com/

I heard a bass player with one and it was some thick ol' tone.

65 Amps is doing some nice stuff too. I've seen him at the last two NAMM shows. Bass Gear (I believe) has reviewed a couple of his products.

They're getting ready to release the "Beast". Pre, Power, and gigantic cab. I would definitely consider them boutique.

Would also consider Glock boutique. As for Matchless, they had a couple several years ago but no offerings currently. The Thunderchief, I think? They might have had something else but I can't remember off the top of my head. Maybe since Bad Cat is coming out with a pretty promising one they might also. FYI, Mark Sampson, I believe, owned both Matchless and then Bad Cat, then went on to form Star Amplifiers.

Verellen seems very accommodating for custom builds. When I've saved up enough money, I'll probably order something from them.

Jaguar amps! Terrible name, great all tube boutique amps.
http://www.jaguaramplification.com/amps.html

I got the chance to play their bass amp through a 4x10 cab (no tweets!) at Namm. Great sounding rig!
