That is a very differently voiced cab in general. Again, port placement makes no difference. If you literally somehow plugged your DB port by having it right against the wall, you would lose some low end for sure, but it would be almost impossible to do that. Of course, if you somehow plugged up a front ported cab, you would experience the same thing.
Whatever happened, you are mis-attributing the behavior to the port placement.
