I found a used in good condition Eden WT550, but I am strapped for cash. They are asking $500. Is that a ggod deal, and I can pull the trigger if I sell my GK 800rb. Do it or not?

don't do it. Your 800RB is a fine head.

There is NO SUCH THING as a "one time only good deal".

I hear you, and I'm not really big on selling it, but man the only other head that i have found that i would like doesn't handle a 2 ohm load, and that was a Mesa Walkabout, same price. I like the 800, but it can't handle a 2 ohm load, not that I always play with two cabinets, but sometimes i want that added beef.

There's no way I'd trade a GK for an Eden.

By next summer my goal is to add either another 410 and a 115 or a 210 with a 115. Those will be 8 ohm cabinets. Now that is not so i can get louder because I get all the volume i need from the 800, but it is more for moving air, maj low end punch no matter how loud i play.

Why do you say that, this not a new Eden it is from 05 before Dave left the comp.

I'm an Eden fan (Wt-400 since November 1997), but if I was strapped for cash, and had to ask TB, I wouldn't do it. If you're not convinced it's the right move and need the approval of the TB collective, then stick with what you know.

Check the Walkabout mega-thread- many users run theirs at 2 ohms. I run mine at 2.6 fairly often.

Because I've always preferred the sound of the GK over the Eden. I had a chance to buy either back when Dave owned the company. As good as the Eden was, the GK always worked better for me where it counted-on the paying gigs. I'm still using GK these days even though I'm semi-retired and have downsized considerably.

Others may prefer the Eden sound. It's a matter of personal preference.

@62 I really never heard Eden stuff live. I'm not in my 60s, but I am in myt 50s, and I'm looking for that old punch I remember from the 70s, but with a hi-fi twist. The 800 is a great amp, and mine is a old one, but I am not getting what I want. It wont get sold anyway the person that wanted it doesn't have the cash, so if one of the amps I have been looking at is still around at the end of the month I'll get it.
P.S my back up to the GK is a Acoustic 370. Old school rules. hahahahahahaha

I don't have to sell my GK 800rb, the I can get the Eden WT550(2004 or2005 is the year that it was made) for $400. Is this a good deal or should I look for sosmething else? I play Smooth Jazz, R&B/Funk. It will be matched up with a Epifani PS410
