I have the capability, and the cab, and I STILL don't. Do you? Why or why not? Discuss!

I don't have one of the newer GK heads with the horn management system, but whenever I play other people's rigs that do have it I don't use the biamp. I like the old school vibe!

But but you didn't say why *you* don't! How can I come up with the appropriate counter-opinion now!? ;-)

I have an old GK 1001RB/210 combo and occasionally run it thru an old Sunn Coliseum 12"+18" cab that has a passive crossover built in.

I like the sound of bi-amp. Sounds clear and thunderous.

I like old school too, though! Nuthin' wrong with a head on a 2x15 or a 4x12 cab!

I love mine and am getting a new cab soon. I had an Epifani 310UL that did it just fine for 7 years. Now I am strongly debating on a GK410 NEO or a an Avatar 410 NEO. It's a very a great amp. The only heads I have considered otherwise are the 2001RB and a few Thunderfunks. Solid state kills tube for us bass players in my opinion.

Don't have the 1001RB II but I use the HMS (G-K is not a true bi-amp except the 800RB) with my Fusion 550. I like the clarity and the ability to turn down/off the horn when I overdrive the preamp.

I have 700RB-II so it's the OP's little bro so to speak. I have a 6" mid-driver and no horn so I go full range.

I voted no because I'm not using GK cabinets. Would try it if I had some but enjoy full range just fine.

I use the HMS with the 700rbII. I love it. At first, I wasn't so into it, but the more I used it, and the more I started pushing the head, the more the HMS made sense. No grunt/growl going into the horn...... and the ability to adjust the horn level from the front of the head instead of climbing around the back on a dark, cramped stage. It really is a nice feature.

Yes. I run it through a 410RBH and a 115RBH. It seems to give me more clarity. It sounds good but I am selling it tomorrow to get an Eden rig. Everytime I hear a bass player with the sound that I want, they are playing through Eden or EBS. I just can't seem to get it from my GK.

Yes. I have a pair of 2x12 Neo cabs. I turn the horn volume all the way down, and engage the woofer high cut. Warms it up a bit.

I think what I meant to ask was "do you use the HMS on your 1001RBII" lol.

I don't use mine because I'm not a fan of the hi-fi sound. I get plenty of crisp snap out of my 10s. To add to that just seems like overkill.

I've owned the GK1001RB-II for a few years before I purchased a NEO2x12 from a TB'er. I was running it through 2 older GK cabs ( 1x15 and a 4 x10 ).

I was happy with my sound, but always wanted to use the amp to its full potential. Besides liking the sound of 12" speakers and the light Neo cab, I like the little bit of tweeter it adds. Its totally controllable which makes it useful.

And now I am finally using all of the knobs on the amp as they where intended. I don't think you have too use a Biamped cab with the head for it to sound good. But I won't go back.

I sorta' use the HMS. I engage the Woofer High Cut, which is part of the HMS. That allows me to send a post-EQ signal to board that closely matches the FOH to my tweeterless cabs.

I run my 1001RB-II through two GK NEO MK I 1X15s. I turn the high cut ( both tweeter and woofer) on and run the highs @ 8:00. I'm not a big fan of the ticky sound that the tweets make when I'm playing. I don't need anything above 5000hz.
