There's something un-PC about that apostrophe in there.

Couldn't disagree more!!!!!!!

I posted on here because I was having a problem with my SVT-VR, just hoping for some advice.
I had no idea who Hodgy was, I had never even heard of him. But he posted in the thread and offered to take a look at my amp, and even offered to loan me an SVT-CL for an upcoming gig.
Oh yeah, he also fixed my amp, parts and labor, plus made a couple upgrades, all because he wanted an Ampeg user to be happy.

So I would say your claim is 100% bogus

Hard to argue that if it says Ampeg someone will buy it good or not so good just to have that "name" on stage behind them?
I never would. I may be an endorser but LOUD had to earn my love

I should have said pf or 7pro. As far as I know no one from Ampeg has replied to any of those threads

Anyone who had a warranty problem got taken care of with a new head, a repair, or a refund. But you keep digging there, Sparky...sooner or later you'll find gold.

Don't know about all the other jibber jabber in this thread, but if I don't get my hands on an old SLM 1600 watt Pro 4 soon, I am gonna die.

the guy had a crappy problem with some Ampeg gear and did not feel his issue was adequately addressed by SLM/Loud. It's not digging, it's reality. Just because you have a strong positive attachment to this particular vendor, it does not nullify anyone else's experience or opinion.

to be fair here, the OP asked if "Ampeg cared for customers, do they read our comments".

I don't know if we really have been able to answer the OP's question. To the best of my knowledge, only Hodgy and some other un-named social media manager from SLM/Ampeg have ever shown up here on TB. Hodgy has been responsive and helpful as he can be, given his role in the assembly and testing of Heritage SVT's in an SLM/Ampeg location in Oregon (?) (i.e. he does not seem to have any input into product development/direction). Excuse me in advance Hodgy if I have any of that wrong.

The other person that I am aware of from SLM/Ampeg (I can't recall his TB username), has rarely, if ever, commented here on any issues relating to SLM/Ampeg gear problems, customer sat, or customer service product direction. My own memory of it was that he only popped in at one point with a fairly snarky comment (which was a pretty amazingly ham fisted way to act given the nature of the web). Again, this is only to the best of my knowledge, and as always IMO/IME.

This is in high contrast to some other well known MI representatives from Genz Benz, QSC and Hartke here on TB, who go out of their way to be helpful, supportive and amazingly responsive to the very active and engaged TB community. I'm not saying that GB, QSC or Larry Hartke take their product development cues from us, but these folks really do seem to get how the web works in terms of the care and feeding of customers.

This is one of the silliest threads I've ever read. Yes - some people will have trouble with a purchase/product from said company - they will not be satisfied at the end of the day. That doesn't mean the company sucks or doesn't care.

To think a company like Ampeg doesn't listen is also short sighted. They're BRINGING BACK the V4 - people have been clamoring for it for awhile it seems. Also making the B15 more affordable (what I'm holding out for).

Feedback from customers is key for any company - but there is a reasonable limit to it.

Having said all that - Ampeg: I'd like to try out that new B15 - pm me.

BTW I don't think SLM had anything to do with the SVT-7, Ampeg was/is owned by LOUD Tech at that point?

I know what bassist want from ampeg, it has been posted many many times averywere, If I know it how is it possible that ampeg product manager dosent? I think they do know what we want or need but they dont care about us.

people want a sealed 410 4ohm cab to use it with VR and Classics, people want a 4 ohm portaflex cab to run pf heads at full power without need to carry 2 cabs, people wanted a 100w valve head or a 100w valve portaflex like b15r... have you ever read something similar to what I'm saying? Im sure you have.

but... nothing happends! I have tou use my beautifull vr with a gallien krueger cab because ampeg wants me to carry the fridge to small clubs or buy a 410hlf wich sound horrible with valve heads and its hard to carry because its a tilt desing instead of 4 wheels and 1 handle in the back like the fridge but you have to be a dwarf or brake your lower back to carry it because it only has 2 wheels.

well... I love ampeg tone, I have always used ampeg, I will allways use ampeg but c'mon show some respect for customers, listen to us, not everything we say but how about just a little bit?

I hope they will show some new products in the next 2 days but if they dont is a waste of time to be in namm with just a non sense pf800 and a cheaper b15 wich I guess is not going to be cheap either and only has 30W so it dosent have the quality of the expensive one for the studio and it dosent have the guts and power for live situations.

sorry If there are some spelling or grammar mistakes, my english is not very good. this is just my opinion so please dont hit me too hard.

Do you realize that SLM has not owned Ampeg for several years?

They're doing something right. My Ampeg amps have been the most dependable, problem free amps I have owned. (over 40 years experience with many amps).

I would love to see a 4 ohm 410he, so that I could use my 2 Pro without lugging two cabinets or a fridge.
