I couldn't get mine off either. I was afraid to try to pull any harder. All I wanted to do was put the yellow knobs in different positions on my Little Mark III.

Used to work at a place that used knobs that gripped the shaft of the knob with a collet which was tightened up with a nut under the cap of the knob. Prise the cab of the knob off and you may well see a nut underneath. Undo the nut and the knob should pull off easily. Mark bass may well use the same type of knobs. Worth a try.

If that don't work then just a tap or two with this bad boy will get it off

Just had a look here, http://www.markbass.it/upload_area/f...allegato_4.pdf, which shows that Mark Bass use these, http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Electron...l?tab=Pictures. So the knobs appear to be just a push fit.

Markbass does not use collet knobs. I loved them on the Alembic stuff I used to own, great knobs, but not used by Markbass.

Markbass Limited Edition

Well sure enough I just pulled em off with a pair of pliers.

My local Guitar Center was clearing out the Markbass Little Mark 10th Anniversary models FOR $399.00 BRAND NEW!!!

Couldn't stand the black/yellow knob combo so I swapped em out for chrome.

Looks pretty sweet, huh?

My first Little Mark, (which I still have and has performed flawlessly and faithfully), was the 08 Limited Editon that I bought in January 2009.

Did you wrap the knobs with anything to keep the pliers from scratching them or leaving an imprint?

No, but that would've been a good idea. Only one of them was scratched. I would think electrical tape would've been a good idea.

Another method to pull those knobs off is to wrap a cloth or towel between the knob and the unit and pull on the cloth.

I think pliers might cut through tape. I was thinking more about something like one of those rubber things you wrap around a jar lid to give you friction. They're usually pretty thin. Or maybe some thin leather?
