Mine hisses a little bit when the treble is at noon and the tweeter in my cab is on. I don't hear it when (1) I play, (2) the treble is below 10 o'clock, or (3) the tweeter is off.
I read a for-sale ad here at TB where the seller said he had received a non-hiss version directly from GK. So, I wonder if a slight hiss is normal.

Even cranked to 1:00 which is God awful loud in the apt and tweeter full on there was no hiss ( Schroeder mini 12 ), there was however what I would call a normal treble noise at that setting and I would never use it like that but I'd say nope , no hiss . I have plans to track a jam later today so we'll see what happens there . IME different tweeters are more or less noisey so perhaps it's the tweet. |

I don't know if its worth getting it repaired, even if I'm in warranty period. |

| | | | I had what I thought was hiss but seems to have just been more treble than I was used to. SSCBA - IMO it's worth it to have them take a look before it drives you nuts and it's out of warranty. But that's just me.

In "post" mode it's gain dependent and can be boosted but but still noise free . So it seems GK some of your MB's may be noisey and if that lilttle bug was ironed out these amps as a whole could be the greatest thing ever , since sliced bread of course . With what little time I have spent messing around with electronics I know it could be any one of those components causing the noise or even be routing of wires within but some are dead quiet and simply fantastic amps . |

Been playing them for well over twenty years, but I have noticed that some (including mine) are hissier than some other brands. Never been a problem though, either live, or in studio, either miced, or through DI..
