OK, what exactly do you mean by "creamy"? Do you want to sound like jack bruce?

Maybe if you give us some examples of songs where you like the bass tone we'd have a better idea as talking about tone is a bit like fishing about spaghetti.

edit: you can look in the amps FAQ section and i think there is still a thread there about EQ

Why are there two threads? Fishing for tone clues works better in one thread with all the pertinent information.

Anyway, GKs tend to have a frequency response baked into them that climbs toward brightness. So to sound a little less brash roll off some top end and upper mids, and that makes the lower mids and bass seem warmer.

Wasn't that answer almost exactly what your question was about?

Anyway ... try what Greenboy suggested but also take the advice you're getting on your other thread and learn to use your hands for tone.

If I want a warmer more rounded sound I move my right hand up by the neck and try to use as much of the side of my finger as I can and trying to roll my finger off the string rather than plucking. (Think of a stand up player plucking with his fingers almost parallel to the strings.)

At the end of the day your tone starts with the way that you touch the strings.

I think he's trying to tell you that GK is generally not thought of as "creamy".

Why don't you sit down and put some time and effort in on your gear?

No one can tell you how to get the tones you want from your gear.

There is no instant gratification or easy way out on this one. You have to find the tones you want.

GK isn't really the brand I think of when I think "creamy". I usually think of something tube oriented or at least a SS head with the highs and high mids rolled down quite a ways. If you've got a tone control on your Ibanez turn it down a little ways, that always helps. If you've got an EQ, roll treble down. But this all might require you to actually sit with your gear and figure it out for yourself. Can you handle that responsibility?

There's a great thread about this here:
Can You Post You Bass Amp settings?

But maybe you should start 2-3 more.

I don't think it's a troll. I think it's a new member who is having a hard time voicing what he's asking and doesn't really know about TB subculture or why he's being eaten alive.

In the end, terms like 'creamy' tend to be used by guitarists who are used to thinking of their sound and rigs in terms of MAGIC and MOJO rather than the more techie way most bass players do...but don't forget that bass players like to throw out nonsensical things like Mwah and Growl too.

BUT...yes, GK has never been associated with a smooth, warm, dare I say 'creamy' tone. I would guess that you could EQ the highs back and get less of the aggressiveness that they provide, but I might consider the options of another amp.

Couple thoughts from a 400rbIII user:

-Go easy on the boost, there's some "harmonic brilliance" there that can spike your cream
-Consider a comp pedal in front to smooth things out and if it has a gain knob like my EBS multicomp, crank it up as high as the input clip on the GK input panel will let you near the light flashing
-Dial out some tweeter on your cabs if you can
-Borrow a Sansamp BDDI to see if you like the "scoop" of cream that little guy can add

On another note....
Holmes asking for tone advice. It may not be expertly articulated to what he's trying to go for, but that's no reason to turn this place into Harmony Central over it.

I really like this forum and it's discouraging to see my bass buddies fighting fire with gasoline.

Um, Mr. H. Troll, start by dumping the Ibaneze and get a bass than can produce a creamy tone in the first place. Try something like a Fender Mustang Bass or a G&L JB-2, for example, you know, something with passive electronics, roll off the tone control and maybe even the volume control a little bit. Any amp should be able to get you that nice, creamy (Jack Bruce, great comment, IM! ) tone.

Turn down your highs a bit. If your cab has a tweeter, turn it off.
