Doubling on EUB and EB. Salsa/merengue.

I've been playing in a salsa group for the past few months using my Azola Bug Bass. Pretty soon we are going to mix in some merengue and I will be playing electric for a few tunes. So, I'm wondering which amp would work well with electric upright and horizontal electric.

I have been trying out alot of different amps, and I'm wondering if there is anything that I'm missing.

So far I'm digging the Little Mark III for EB. It works ok for EUB, but not ideal.

For EUB, the iAmp Pro is fantastic, but somewhat lacking in character for EB.

I was thinking that a VT Bass with the iAmp would be a good idea.

I am also going to be spending time with a GK 1001RB II. I've heard alot of guys have had good luck with the 800 for their Baby Basses. I always liked the GK tone for electric.

I'm very familiar with the Acoustic Image stuff, and it would be nice to have two independent channels. Not sure if I want to go this way though.

Is there anything else worth checking out???


I would want a minimum of 500 watts. I'd also prefer to keep it under 30 lbs.
