Thanks from here, as well. Your involvement bucks the pattern trend of most of these threads. The pattern: "Someone" praises Dr. Bass, many ripped-off customers issue warnings about scam experience, things get feisty in the thread (likely to the delight of Mark Serio Dr. Doctor Bass), admin makes warning, things stay feisty, thread gets locked (again, likely to the delight of Doctor Dr. Bass). This pattern of thread locks is repeated over and over. The threads drop into obscurity. The underlying problem remains, snaring other unsuspecting TBers.

Dr. Bass has received great publicity on TB. His cabs have been of interest to many. Those same interested parties deserve to know the fuller story. Hence, the value of an active thread detailing the contrary experience.

Thanks, again for your involvement, and support of this active thread. It would be truly amazing if some resolution could be reached through the involvement of a Talkbass mod.

to those who wonder what can an admin on a website do, you might be surprised what i can do to help this kind of situation along.

let's just say that what you are on line is built off what the -perception- of you is. if you are perceived to be a crook on line, the impact/damage such a perception can have on your ability to conduct yourself online, or in RL for that matter, is diminished. when that perception is earned, as is the case in this situation (from the folks that have contacted me, independently, it seems that Dr. Bass owes folks at least $10,000 in gear/refunds, if not more).

one of the things i can do is coordinate you guys and add something of an (at least perceived) "official stamp" to whatever endeavors you engage in in your attempts to get your situations made right. this is often enough to bring a satisfactory conclusion to these unfortunate situations.

i'm still accumulating data, but for starters, let's modify the thread title.

as a followup, please keep this thread primarily focused on helping those who have been directly affected (i.e. are owed money/gear) and keep OT stuff to a minimum.

and those of you who have been affected by this - i am collecting a database of sorts of everyone who also is in a similar situation.

if you haven't already, please pm me, let me know the particulars of your situation, and also let me know if you are ok with me sharing your info (only user nickname, amt of money owed by dr bass and length of time since order was placed) among the other talkbass site admins/mods and the other members affected who have contacted me.

Investigation is open and active.

i would be surprised if that wasn't substantially past the threshold for a felony.

Mr. Martin and the legal department at USPIS have been active in this investigation, have visited Serio, and have issued a "cease and desist" order against advertising goods which can't be delivered.
They are actively monitoring these threads at TB, as well as Boycott Dr.Bass page on Facebook, as well as BBB, SC Attorney General, and Ripoff Report claims against Dr.Bass, LLC, et.al.
Unfortunately, they can only act if the US Mails or USPS Money Orders were involved, as with myself and a couple other TB'ers.
So, if anyone knows of anyone who has been solicited by Dr.Bass to SEND payment, correspondence, etc thru the US Mails, PLEASE email John Martin at the US Postal Inspector's Service jmartin@uspis.gov and report this.

DRB 412 ordered over a year ago. I paid $500 & he keeps blowing me off. I want my money back! To heck with the cab it's way too late for that. I want my money back or I'll go get it from him myself. Hopefully he is working on the oldest ones first? No matter what happens in my personal life, if I get behind on something I try to catch up not just forget about whatever I am behind and keep promising new cabs to other people ... I posted earlier on the list that I was waiting on a cabinet. After almost a year I discovered that since I used a credit card I could still dispute the charges so I did and got all of my money back. If you used a credit card and it has been less than 12 months I would recommend going the chargeback route.......your credit card company might not be very receptive (mine wasn't) but I persisted and prevailed. I have talked to Marc several months ago and the gist I'm getting is that he is trying to fill new orders and use some of the profit to fund back orders. Doesn't sound real good if you are waiting but maybe at some point in the future you may see a cabinet.............or not?
