I received my Dr Bass 1580 cabinet today that I purchased from fellow TBer bjazzman and all I can say is WOW! This thing sounds fantastic! Super punchy and deep. Really adds the chest pounding lows to my Carvin BX500 and 2x10. Sounds great as a stand alone cab as well. It is a shame that Dr. Bass is having so many issues getting his product out because it is a very well made and great sounding cabinet!

I've heard tons of great things about the DR.Bass cabs honestly. Their delivery time is completely ridiculous, and so is the all around customer service, but I've heard the finished cabs are great sounding.

I'd love to try one, but there is no way I'd risk losing the money on a cab I may or may not get.

I am really happy that the OP bought the cab from a fellow TB'er and not from DR. Bass. Well, he got it didnt he?

It's a damn shame that the company Dr. Bass is not ethical. The cabs do in fact look lovely, and most people do like them.

It's pretty common for boutique builders to get jacked up financially. They take deposits, and spend that money before building the product. Then they get into what is essentially a Ponzi scheme, where they need to take in new money to pay off old debts, in a never ending and vicious cycle.

I've been tempted to buy some used Dr. Bass cabs, but it would be better to support guys like Don Oatman, Andy Lewis, or Dave at Avatar. Support the guys who play the game right.

Used is the only way to go...

Congrats on scoring a 1580. Its a nice cab for sure. Forget trying to get any of Marc's cabinets new as you stand a better chance of seeing Elvis than actually receiving a new Dr. Bass cabinet.

Of course if you live in Las Vegas, please forget my last statement...

I see multiple Elvii every day here in Sin City, but my Dr. Ass cabs (on order since 9/29/09), nope. Rot in Hell, Serio.

I would have never ordered a new one from Dr. Bass after all the negative publicity he has received! I was lucky enough to get IMO a very good deal on a nice used cabinet. I hate that he has taken money from people and not provided them a product as promised. Maybe I should take the Dr. Bass badge off the front of my cabinet!

Leave the badge on.

I've had my 2460 now for over two years and lots o' gigs. It is indeed a great cab, and yes, I bought mine new from Marc with no issues whatsoever.

I've met many TB'ers at gigs, and not one has either made any negative comment or condemned me for having a Dr. Bass cab. No one else outside of this community seems to care, either.

I truly feel bad for those that have had a bad experience with Marc and his company. His product is wonderful, and sounds great.
