Drawings for diy cabs

Sign in to disble this ad
G'day people,
I looking for drawings (pardon my english, but it is called schematics for the electronics, and drawings for the woodwork? If I'm wrong, please correct me) for building cabs, preferably copies of commercial, good cabs. I've tried searching the mighty net, but haven't found anything. Any pointers?

Thanks!

Great, thanks! These look awesome!

But any plans for commercial cabs like Markbass, Fender and so on?

Being that they are commercial offerings with what is very often custom drivers, I don't really think so.

But then again most of them are nothing special. Square box, circular ports, generic cross over (if any). Mechanically they are definitely nothing to write home about.

No point in recreating (badly) an inferior cab design. The manufacturers of said cabs have cut corners and ordered suitable drivers for them, so most times it's not even possible ro recreate those designs.

+1 for both BFM and FEarful.

If You want old school, build a pair of EV TL606 or TL505 cabs with modern drivers.

On the Eminence website there's cab designs as well, but no plans IIRC.

Regards
Sam

Don't bother making copies of commercial cabs. The goal of DIY is getting the best sound possible. Commercial designs are concerned with making the highest profit possible. Those two goals seldom are realized in the same cab.
